Man from Barão São Miguel is the latest victim of Covid-19 in the Algarve

Tests at the Budens School Centre all came back negative.

An 82-year-old man, living in Barão de São Miguel, is the most recent victim of Covid-19 in the Algarve and the first in the municipality of Vila do Bispo, ascertained Sul Informação. The elderly man was hospitalized and had other health problems, which are said to have worsened with Covid-19, an official source told the press.

The man is related to the outbreak in Barão de São Miguel which originated from people working in the neighbouring municipality of Lagos.

Meanwhile, after the Budens School Centre was closed this week due to a positive case in a young student, all analyses of staff, colleagues and teachers were negative. With this death in Vila do Bispo, the total number of deaths motivated by Covid-19 in the Algarve rises to 40, according to data from the Regional Health Authority.
